Brighten Your Home with Purple Rugs
Purple is a beautiful color for all kinds of accessories. It is rich and warm with hints of both blue and red balancing each other out. No wonder in years gone by it was the color reserved for royalty. And when it comes to brightening your floor there is little to beat the effect of purple rugs – as long as they go with your color scheme, of course.
Purple actually goes with many colors including black, purple, gray and even lime green, which is a surprising yet effective combination found in some floor rugs. Purple is a bold color, so it works very well in contemporary rooms. It is also quite an adult color which is probably why teens love it too and it can be used to brighten their rooms with more items than just a rug. Add a host of purple with bedding too and then use accessories in a coordinating color. Although dark purple is too strong a color for a baby’s room, you could add a touch of lilac, lavender or periwinkle with a light purple rug. These are softer forms of the color.
If you choose purple bath rugs and towels for your white bathroom, you will see that the color purple goes very well with white too and lifts the whole room. In this case, you can use any shade of purple from lilac to aubergine as all these colors go well with white. If you wish to add another color, gray would work very well.
If using a purple rug in your hall, try and choose a patterned runner with a purple background. The purple will welcome your guests but their muddy footprints, which are so obvious on a plain purple rug will not be so welcome with you when you have to keep getting your rug cleaned.
